Nature gives cork its face. Its pores and small imperfections are not a shortcoming, but an important indication of its genuineness. If its surface is distorted by strong bleaching or even altered cosmetically, it’s hardly possible to make objective judgments about the cork. That’s why we take a different approach. The natural one. The safe one.
We offer our corks in two different lines - the classic and the natural line. All our corks come into contact only with substances that are approved for contact with foodstuffs. We use the most modern analysis technology to classify cork batches into sensory classes that allow you to select the appropriate level of safety.
Classic
Our classic natural corks are only lightly bleached with peroxide during washing. The gentle wash subtly lightens the cork surface without masking the natural color variations of the material. The result is a cork that, despite its pleasing appearance, does not hide its original structure.
These classic corks are coated with silicone oil and paraffin.
Natural
Washed only with citric acid and caustic soda, each OrganiQork retains its natural surface and color. The distinct contrasts between the cork surface and dark pores remain visible and give the cork its typical natural appearance. This is proof that coloring and fillers have been omitted.
OrganiQork is sealed exclusively with beeswax and vegetable oil. A more natural cork isn’t possible.
